ALS / Kelly AFB...Is There a Connection? |

As of November 12, 2001, 122 questionnaires developed by The South Texas Chapter of The ALS Association that have been completed by individuals/families who have worked or lived at Kelly Air Force Base and have been diagnosed with ALS. The chapter has turned them over to the epidemiologists at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio. The Air Force will coordinate two studies, one a mortality study, and one a case series. The mortality study is underway, and preliminary part of the case series study has also begun. The 122 families will be contacted by the Air Force in the near future to participate in the case series study. Both studies should be completed in 2002.
